PETER RAACKE
Peter Raacke, born in Hanau in 1928, made a lasting impact on design history with the creation of the Mono–A flatware and as a co-founder of the Mono brand.
As a lecturer and professor at institutions in Darmstadt, Kassel, Ulm and Hamburg, he mentored and influenced numerous young designers. In 2003, his contributions were celebrated with a retrospective exhibition titled "50 Years of Peter Raacke Design" at the German Museum of Technology in Berlin. In 2007, he was awarded honorary member at the German Designer Club in recognition of his lifetime achievements.
Raacke is best known for designing iconic flatware collections such as Mono–A and Mono–Ring for Mono. Prof. Peter Raacke passed away on March 20, 2022 in Berlin, at the age of 93, leaving behind a legacy of timeless design excellence.
